Jenna Fischer has become best well-known for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy as well as an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
In Fort Wayne Indiana, she was raised at St. Louis Missouri. Jenna observed as her mom Anne was in the church stage. Her love for performance and theater was instilled at a very young girl.
After wrapping up The Office, Fischer, who is a trained actress in the theater, went back to her roots. She played Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy. The play was followed by her participation as the first woman to appear in Steve Martin's new play Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy with Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking run in The Old Globe Theatre.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey began an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in its initial two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey) In it, her tale of relocating from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is detailed. The Office BFF's : Stories of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is also a memoir of Angela Kinsey and herself, and their collaboration on The Office.
