Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for an Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics trainer who later became her coach later in life found her around the age of six. She first competed in the junior national championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She won the competition in 1970. Her first ever international competition in 1972, she came out on top having won three golds. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. It was the first time she participated as an older senior. She was the first female ever to successfully perform a backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started skating figure with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teenage years. When she was a child, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating with theatrical shows.
